Government schools have expanded English/bilingual-medium enrollment from about 42,000 students in 2006 to 142,000 in 2025. But because the system serves 3.75 million students, the share of English medium students is still only 3.8%. The English divide has narrowed in absolute numbers, but remains almost untouched at system scale.
