Women’s Day is nigh. So pink and purple are in fashion 👀, as are all things girlypop. If you’re a woman, throw some [hoppers](https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSfeYuexWYKzLa74uUZwXtX6xPXNYY5CxXFVCvgji8jpxTmYhw/viewform?ref=examiner.media) and drink some drinks tonight. [Sea of Change](https://www.instagram.com/p/DVY-MHPE1wL/?ref=examiner.media), a worryingly timely exhibition, also opens at the Wendt. Next week, the Wendt's theater [attacks fairytales](https://www.instagram.com/p/DVTKQGvkZTz/?ref=examiner.media). 

Over the weekend, the Bawa Trust’s [Open House ](https://www.eventbrite.com/cc/open-house-colombo-2026-4820045?ref=examiner.media)– really more of a festival, with 36 events and tours of ordinarily private spaces, including [CoCA](https://www.eventbrite.com/e/ohc26-coca-arts-tour-tickets-1984116864954?aff=odcleoeventsincollection&ref=examiner.media) and architects’ offices. [Collectorcon](https://www.instagram.com/lankacollectorcon/?ref=examiner.media) summons poké nerds to Havelock City. They’re probably ageing now, Pokémon’s been around for thirty years. 

The [Travelling Southasia documentary festival](https://www.facebook.com/events/1961732221435235/) floats between Hatch and the Public Library. For less seeing and more doing, an [art club ](https://www.instagram.com/p/DVci7uGiFiM/?ref=examiner.media)at Lakmahal on Saturday. Also, the last two days of the [World Press Photo exhibition](https://www.instagram.com/p/DVLlHlZlKM%5F/?ref=examiner.media) and Curado unveils [Echoes and Origins](https://www.instagram.com/p/DVaQBcpiIhI/?ref=examiner.media). 

Sunday is eclectic; a [Thai food ](https://www.eventbrite.com/e/thai-market-tickets-1983786582069?ref=examiner.media)market at Siam Niwasa, WNPS’s [Wild Walk & Trash Talk](https://www.instagram.com/p/DVbDmd0Ag9W/?img%5Findex=1&ref=examiner.media) at Thalangama tank, and once again in honour of women’s day, a free [screening ](https://www.instagram.com/p/DVOAksJGNfA/?ref=examiner.media)of [*Gehenu Lamai* ](https://www.instagram.com/p/DVOAksJGNfA/?ref=examiner.media)for the ladies at Havelock Mall. In its emptiness, a vaguely dystopian rest of the week. Fittingly, [Lakmahal’s ](https://www.instagram.com/p/DVQididDRIc/?ref=examiner.media)book club discusses [*A Clockwork Orange*](https://www.instagram.com/p/DVQididDRIc/?ref=examiner.media). No rest for the pages, as elsewhere, the Saskia Fernando Gallery opens [*Noperalena Pitu*](https://www.instagram.com/p/DVfewQiiEz1/?ref=examiner.media), where Kingsley Gunatillake reconceives the book as a wounded form. 

One last note for the thespians among us; Kolamba Kamatha announced the [second edition](https://www.instagram.com/p/DVVUGXkDDaA/?ref=examiner.media) of their theatre festival. Stay alert for the schedule and tickets to be announced this week.
