*What to read*

We’ve abandoned the port for the airport. But Arthur Conan Doyle, Mahatma Gandhi, and Anton Chekhov haven’t. Read Ajay Kamalakaran new book, [*Colombo: port of call*](https://www.penguin.co.in/book/colombo-2/?ref=examiner.media)as he views Colombo through their eyes. 

Speaking of crossing oceans, a [journal article](https://journals.sagepub.com/doi/10.1177/17506980251409274?ref=examiner.media) on soundscapes of Sri Lankan migrants in Melbourne. Not to be outdone by the sociologists, the doctors have [written](https://papers.ssrn.com/sol3/papers.cfm?abstract%5Fid=6019139&ref=examiner.media) on acute disability following Chikengunya. See also the Wildlife and Nature Protection Society's new journal [issue](https://www.wnpssl.org/pdf/loris/loriz-magazine-30-06.pdf?ref=examiner.media), with its charming mascot, as always. 

OHCHR [released](https://www.ohchr.org/sites/default/files/documents/hrbodies/hrcouncil/sri-lanka/2026-crsv-brief-english.pdf?ref=examiner.media) its much-awaited report on conflict related sexual violence. Meanwhile, the battle for the auditor-general goes on, with CPA’s new [statement](https://www.cpalanka.org/cpa-statement-on-the-institutional-stalemate-in-the-appointment-of-the-auditor-general/?ref=examiner.media) on the issue.
